Certificate III in Carpentry
About This Course
This is a trade qualification for carpenters in residential and commercial workplaces. It includes setting out, manufacturing, constructing, assembling, installing and repairing products made using timber and non-timber materials. It’s a hands-on program designed for people who want to begin a career as a carpenter without doing an apprenticeship. Helps develop your professional Carpentry skills to perform, observe analyse and evaluate building operations as if you were running the Carpentry component of the build.
Entry Requirements
Whilst there are no entry requirements specified in the training package, Marriott Academy requires prospective students to meet the following criteria:
- Students must be minimum 18 years of age at the time of course commencement; and complete LLN test
- Students must completed a nationally recognised qualification as AQF Level III or above, or demonstrated the attainment of at least ACSF level 3 by completion of Australian Year 10 qualification, or equivalent, and
- Minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or PTE score of 52 or Certificate III in EAL or equivalent

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Students may apply for course credits, advanced standing or exemptions if they are able to provide evidence that demonstrates that they have attained competency. Competency may have been attained through formal and informal training, work experience and life experience. Applications must be made on an official Application form. Students should consult with the RTO Manager before making an application.
